Bean and Brush Art Cafe

Open daily, 9am-5pm

A longstanding favourite for parents and their children, Bean and Brush Art Cafe is a great cafe for a spot of lunch and some pot painting for the kids.

The cafe offers a selection of craft activities for children of different ages and is also an excellent place for hosting catered children’s parties.

Minikin Paint a Pot Art Cafe
57 Cross Street, Sale M33 7HF
Open Tuesday – Saturday 10am-5pm

Minikin has been open in Sale for well over a decade and is a hub of pottery painting for all ages. Enjoy its creative environment whether you’re child is seven or 47, simply pick your piece of pottery and go wild with the paint! You can leave your pottery with the friendly team at Minikin, who will fire it in their dedicated kiln. 

Minikin also serves food and drinks from ‘The Hatch’, including tea, coffee, milkshakes, waffles and delicious crepes. ​

Everything 4 – Stay and Play Cafe
23 Stanley Square, Sale M33 7WZ

Originally opened at the end of 2021 with their magical Christmas experience, Everything 4 has now been transformed into a jungle-themed stay and play cafe with a fun virtual reality boat ride. 

Everything 4 hasn’t forgotten about the grown-ups either, with food and drinks available from their ‘jungle juice’ bar. 

A great place for children’s parties, Everything 4 also hosts a number of events throughout the year, including puppet shows and ‘meet a princess’ days. 

Cost? £3 per child for up to 90 minutes stay and play. Virtual reality boat ride £4 per person or £10 for a family of four. 

Explore and Play

Explore and Play prides itself on being a play centre with a difference. With 12 play zones, each one is designed to help children discover, learn and have fun. 

Popular zones include construction – a building site packed with construction toys ideal for kids who love machinery – and imagination village, a role play area with shops, houses and cars. The perfect play for children who love to dress up and let their imagination have free rein!

Sunbeams Stay and Play Group 
Sale West Community Centre, Newbury Avenue, Sale, M33 4QH
Thursdays, 1pm-2.45pm

A new stay and play group in Sale, Sunbeams is suitable for children from birth to three years and costs £2 per family. 

As well as enabling children to mix with other young ones, the group gives parents and carers the opportunity to meet other local families and connect with the community.

Walton Park Miniature Railway

Every Sunday

Walton Park has a fully-functioning miniature railway running about a quarter of a mile long. Run by Sale Area Model Engineering Society (SAMES), it is popular with kids (and, let’s be honest, adults) of all ages. 🚂
