If your bins are collected on a Monday then the good news for you is that you will have them emptied on both May Bank Holiday May 2, and the following Whit bank holiday on May 30. Traditionally Monday collections have had to be made on Tuesday which had an a knock on affect on the rest of the week.

A spokesperson for Trafford Borough Council said: “Residents are reminded that there will be no delays to their bin collections over the May Bank Holidays.

“The One Trafford Partnership have committed to carrying out waste and recycling collections on all public bank holidays with the exception of Christmas and New Year.

And there is a reminder that household waste recycling centres on Chester Road, Stretford or Sinderland Lane, Altrincham will be open from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday.
