Sale man found dead: police appeal to trace family

A man has been found dead in Sale.

Raymond Lomax was discovered at his home on Ashfield Road on Sunday 16th October 2022.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the 77-year-old’s death.

Police launched a public appeal today in a bid to trace his family. Anyone who knows Raymond’s relatives is urged to come forward.

Anyone with information about Raymond Lomax’s next of kin should contact the Police Coroner’s Office in Stockport on 0161 856 9290.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
