Wiebke Acton brings her autobiographical theatre show for one night only to Waterside.

As The Crow Flies: Berlin, Todmorden is based on Wiebke’s experience of living in (and between) two cultures and was collectively devised at the Berlin Globe with local artists.

Do you know where you belong?

Wiebke is a Berliner. Wiebke lives in the hills of Yorkshire. She swapped graffiti for sheep, techno clubs for country pubs. Still, her roots are in Berlin.

Interweaving personal diary entries with texts and songs by both German and English authors, Wiebke creates a turbulent night of theatre and cabaret, honest and provocative. In an attempt to understand her identity, she speaks and sings about the pull of two cultures, curious encounters with alien traditions, and the need to pass on that love for Berlin to her English daughter, creating a musical mosaic of intercultural experiences.
