Sale Today revealed in our first ever edition, figures which showed there had been a 36% increase in anti-social behaviour in the Trafford South division in the year to the end of February 2016.  They accounted for the largest number of crimes recorded in the area which covers Sale and surrounding districts.

Now Sale Today wants to hear from you if you are experiencing any kind of anti-social behaviour in all parts of the Sale area. Please contact us on sale@hyperlocaltoday.co.uk, via Twitter @saletowntoday or our Sale Today Facebook. And please contact the police if you feel worried or unsafe as a result of any anti-social behaviour. South Trafford police are asking for residents to them know so they can help deal with it.

In response to the rise in anti-social behaviour incidents a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said:  “We have officers on patrol and where emerging issues of anti-social behaviour are identified; appropriate patrol plans are put in place according to the specific need.

“ASB can be many forms of nuisance behaviour which causes annoyance to others and be committed by a wide range of ages dependent on its nature.”

The second largest increase recorded was in the number of violence and sexual offences reported to the police according to Police.UK.  There were 666 cases last year which was a 15 per cent increase.

Burglary and Criminal damage and arson were third and fourth respectively.  At the other end of the table were muggings and possession of weapons.

The figures are released on the Police.UK website which compiles a detailed breakdown of crimes in all police areas in the country. There’s also performance tables so the public can see how many crimes are committed each month and where they happened.

Meanwhile in the year ending December 2015, the crime rate in Trafford was lower than the average crime rate across similar areas, according to the figures.  But they also reveal that of all the crimes reported in the 12 months to the end of February,  76% saw no further action taken.
