Police in South Trafford are warning of an increase in the number of burglaries which have occurred in the St Mary’s East and Ashton on Mersey areas.  During the incidents the glass panels of doors have been smashed to allow access to the properties.  All incidents have taken place in the late evening and early morning.

Police say that a possible bogus official has been seen collecting for a children’s charity in the area when these crimes have occurred. He is said to be white, approximately five feet ten inches tall with a bald head and stocky build.  He has been collecting after 9 pm.

Anyone with information on the break-ins or the offenders  should ring 101 or Altrincham Police Station on 0161 856 7530.
