School choirs combine for a night of song

A special concert took place last night at Sale Waterside as local primary school choirs joined forces, to showcase their talents.

The Festival, which runs until June 26th, is attracting large crowds for its events.

On Friday The Mike Hall Jazz Quartet will perform with the Sale Grammar School Swing Band at Waterside Arts Centre at 7.30 .

Also there is a chance to ‘Look back with Laughter’, when Susan Craig will talk about 27 years of being married to Mike, a BBC producer and comedy script writer.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
