Police are warning cycle owners to make sure their bikes are locked securely overnight following two burglaries in the Sale area.
This distinctive bike was stolen overnight following a break-in at a garage.
A GMP spokesman is appealing for help to trace the bike. And in a separate incident four bikes were stolen from a communal area in an apartment block in Northenden Road in Sale at the weekend.
”During the early hours of Saturday morning, police officers were alerted to 3 youths on Marsland Road in Sale, on seeing police officers the youths attempted to make off. Officers pursued the youths who were found to be in possession of 4 stolen pedal cycles. The youths were arrested and bikes were seized,’ said a GMP spokesman.
He added:”One of the males attempted to dispose of a pair of bolt croppers, which was spotted and is currently being tested for forensics. These bikes had been left insecurely in a communal area. Please be vigilant when leaving bikes in communal areas, make sure you lock them together or lock them to an immoveable object.”
Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of the stolen bike is asked to ring 101.
