Trafford Business Club hosted its EU Referendum debate at Sale Rugby Club last night.
Members gave a minute silence before the debate began, to reflect on the loss of Jo Cox, MP. The meeting should have happened last Thursday,but it was postponed due the MP’s murder.
The panel of invited guests, included Edwina Currie, who is voting to remain in Europe. She was joined by Sajjad Karim, Conservative MEP for the North West in the European Parliament. John Bickley, the UKIP treasurer was the lead speaker for the Brexit camp.
There was a lively debate which covered inward investment, what a vote to leave would mean for the future of Britain,and topics as diverse as taxation,employment and pensions.
The meeting was chaired by Nathan Evans on behalf of the Trafford Business Club. The Referendum itself will be held on Thursday.
