Police warning for Sale residents to secure sheds and garages overnight

Police are warning Sale residents to make sure sheds are locked securely overnight.

Thieves are targeting sheds and garages in the area. This follows the latest attempt in a break-in, on a shed at a house in Leith Road, Sale.

Nothing was stolen but a GMP spokesman said:”It important to lock and secure your bikes, gardening equipment, and deny access to the thieves by remembering to lock their sheds overnight. Don’t make it easy for the offenders.”

This follows a spate of thefts of bicycles in the Sale and Ashton on Mersey area.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
