Comedian Peter Kay was spotted in Sale Moor this week filming the new series of his BAFTA winning series Car Share – and couldn’t help himself entertaining passersby and a bus full of school children.

Claire Oliver who owns Minikin Paint a Pot and her friend Laura Featonby who owns Laura’s Travel, both in Sale, took pictures of the star and the cast while filming was underway at the filling station on Northenden Road in Sale Moor on Tuesday

They were both passing when they saw him and decided to stay and watch.  At one point a bus taking pupils home from the Altrincham College of Arts School stopped near the petrol station.

Said Claire:”We were passing and Laura, who is a massive Peter Kay fan, spotted the red car.  So we stayed.

“Peter Kay was great.  He was having a laugh with the people watching. He was waving at the ACA kids on the school bus.  They were busy filming  but were there for a good few hours.”

The Car Share crew is filming it’s second series for BBC1. It won two awards at the BAFTAs this year including Male Performance in a Comedy for Peter Kay and another for Best Scripted Comedy.
