Thieves broke into a house in Reading Drive, Sale by forcing a rear patio door open.
“This happened between 4.30pm and 6.30pm yesterday. The side gate was open to the house and this was used to get access to the rear of the house. We would like to appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Reading Drive area at that time to get in touch. Please report to 101 or anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.”
There have been a spate of burglaries in the Sale area in the last few weeks.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.
The memorial reads:
