A15-year-old boy has been bailed on suspicion of supplying a Class A drug and perverting the course of justice. The teenager from the Trafford area, was arrested on Tuesday following an incident during which a 13-year-old boy became critically ill while at Timperley Station.
The youngster has remained in a critical but stable condition since the incident on Saturday afternoon. Police had been called to the Metrolink stop at around 4.30 pm after reports of a boy becoming unwell. They later said the boy, who is 13, was thought to have taken MDMA or ecstasy.
Throughout the weekend police had issued warnings to youngsters about taking drugs and urged others who might have taken similar substances to the boy, to seek medical attention. They also released details of the drug information and support website, FRANK, for parents and children to contact if they were worried about drugs.
The 15-year-old boy has been released on bail until August 26.
