The Masis Armenian restaurant next to Brooklands tram station was closed for three days this week while it was transformed into a 1960s eaterie in Essex. A number of other shops have had their frontages altered to make it look as if it is 40 years ago.

ITV is filming a three part mini series about the life of England World Cup Captain Bobby Moore and his wife Tina. (see photograph above courtesy of http://imageviewphotography.co.uk ) Although their romance was played out in Essex, Brooklands and it’s corner of shops has been chosen to recreate those days.

The series focuses on the time before and after the World Cup when Bobby Moore and his wife Tina – his childhood sweetheart- became the Golden couple of the times. But the series also explores Bobby’s testicular cancer.
