Police are warning people to make sure their car keys are stored away safely overnight following the theft of a car from Dane Road, Sale.
The thieves used the letterbox to obtain the car keys which were hanging near the front door. “They used the hook and cane method to retrieve the keys via the letterbox,” said a spokesman for GMP.
“It happened overnight Friday, where a BMW Coupe in black was stolen, registration number YK65 ETO. If you see this car or saw anything suspicious please phone 101, or anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 if you have any information.
“Always remember to place your keys in a safe and secure place overnight and not to hang them near the front door where they are easily accessible ”
