A second teenager has been arrested after a 13-year-old boy from Sale, was taken to hospital after taking what is to believed to be ecstasy.
Police were called at around 4.30pm on Saturday 9 July 2016 to Timperley Metrolink station to reports that a teenage boy had become unwell.
The boy was admitted to hospital in a “critical” state. Police say he is now in a serious but stable condition.
It is believed he took ecstasy but further tests to determine exactly what was taken are still to take place.
A 16-year-old boy from the Trafford area was arrested on Wednesday 20 July 2016 on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and has been bailed to 26 August 2016.
A 15-year-old boy from the Trafford area was previously arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and perverting the course of justice.
He was also bailed to 26 August.
Detective Inspector Carl Gilbert, from GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “The boy’s condition is currently improving but he is still extremely unwell and we continue to offer our support to the family.
“Please let this serve as a warning to anyone tempted to take drugs – the consequences can be devastating, even fatal.
“The risks are not worth it, so please just think before you go to take something.
“We are continuing our investigation and both teenagers have been assisting with our enquiries. However, I would still urge anyone who has any information about this incident to please call us on 101.”
