The thirteen year old Sale boy has been taken off  on a life support machine and is out of intensive care in hospital after taking drug thought to be ecstacy.

Police report his condition has improved so much that he is communicating with hospital staff and his family, who kept a bedside vigil.

Timperley Metrolink Station where the boy fell ill
Emergency services were called to Timperley Metrolink station three weeks ago when the boy became ill after getting off a tram.  His condition deteriorated and he was placed on a life support machine.  He remained gravely ill and fighting for his life.

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, have been arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and released on bail.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police has said: “He’s out of intensive care.  He has regained consciousness and is breathing by himself.”
