Calls for more police patrols in Sale have been made as the area is hit  with another burglary.

The latest theft occurred  at about 11am on Brooklands Road in Sale yesterday.

A spokesman for GMP said:”The offender/s approached the rear of the property and used an unknown implement to smash the rear patio door to enable entry. Once inside offender/s conducted untidy search of the property and made off as per entry in an unknown direction.

“Did you see any suspicious activity in the area? Please report any information you may have to 101 or anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.”

One Facebook message is typical of the public’s reaction to the spate of thefts, calling for greater protection in the area – “After how many burglaries there’s been in Sale recently, I definitely think the police patrols should be increased!!”

Sale Today has asked GMP what they intend to do to counter the rise of thefts from homes in the areas of Brooklands, Sale Moor, Ashton on Mersey, Ashton on Mersey and Sale. We will publish their response as soon as we have it.

In the meantime GMP will be holding a crime prevention stand today between 3-4pm @ Sainsburys, Curzon Road, Sale, for any advice or a chat about any localised issues in your area.
