Police say they are now targeting areas in Sale which have seen what the force call a spike in burglaries over the last four weeks.

The school holidays have seen reports of burglary, attempted burglary including the theft of cars from drives, on an almost daily basis and the police admitted last week that the numbers for such crimes had risen sharply.

Two further burglaries were reported yesterday leading the police to ask the public to be extra vigilant.

And on their Trafford South Facebook page a spokesperson said: “We have patrols concentrating on the areas affected by the recent spate of burglaries. We asking members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity and to look out for neighbours property.

The latest daylight burglary happened in Brooklands Road yesterday, when one or possibly more thieves smashed through the back door to get into the property.  They also ripped the alarm off the wall before taking items.

A property on Washway Road was broken into yesterday, this time from the front. Again items were stolen.
