Sale High School is tonight celebrating some impressive GCSE results with a record 60% of pupils getting at least five A* to C grades.
The results put them ahead of the national average and the school is keen to thank everyone involved in the school not least the students themselves.
A spokesperson said:” Everyone at ‘Team Sale High School’ is quite rightly proud of our record breaking examination results this year. There appears to be no stopping the improvement in achievement and the outstanding progress of the young people as they surpassed the 60% boundary for at least 5 A*-C Grades Including English and Mathematics this year.
“We have seen records broken for a full range of subjects in both attainment and student progress. It is a testament to the dedicated staff as well as the ethos and culture of the school that the students are able to excel within a more challenging National Curriculum.”
A breakdown of results is as follows:100% of students achieved A* – C in Chemistry, Physics and Biology, 88% in Art, 84% in Drama, 80% in English Language and 80% in Music. Over 85% achieved this benchmark in RE, 73% in History, 76% in Food Technology, 79% in English Literature and 72% in Spanish.
