Sale man charged with burglary and remanded in custody

A man has been charged with burglary offences after being arrested after a burglary in Manor Road, Sale.

A spokesman for GMP said: “Richard Duncan Metcalfe, aged 42, of Sale, has been charged with Burglary With Intent To Steal; and Burglary Other Than Dwelling, this offence occurred on Manor Road, Sale in the early hours of yesterday morning. He has been remanded in custody.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
