Burglary in Sale after thieves gain access to a house through a ground floor window

Police are warning Sale residents to make sure their windows and doors are locked to try foil would-be burglars.

A spokesman for GMP said:”It’s a lovely warm day out there today however, please ensure your windows are locked shut when you leave your house unattended. Burglars will be on the look out for home insecurities ….

“There was a burglary on Pulford Road in Sale yesterday afternoon. Offender/s gained access via a ground floor window. Enquiries are ongoing.

”Please call us on the 101 number if you spotted any suspicious behaviour in that area at that time.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
