400 posts will be on offer at the Trafford Centre jobs fair this week

Some of the biggest names in retail will be among those hoping to fill 400 posts at the annual ‘Jobs Fair Spectacular’ on Thursday.

Thousands are expected to flock to the Trafford Centre where the Jobs Fair will be held from noon and 9 pm.

The event will be held in the Orient Food Hall and will include other big names like JD Sports, Ernest Jones, River Island, Fat Face, Boots and GAME.

Big name retailers will among those recruiting at the jobs fair on Thursday

Richard Paxton, general manager of intu Trafford Centre, said: “We are one of the biggest employers in the north-west and at Christmas, there are roughly 8,500 people coming to work at intu Trafford Centre. Thanks to a number of fantastic openings in 2016, this year there are even more exciting new opportunities for jobseekers.”

intu Trafford Centre itself is also offering a variety of roles, including customer services assistants.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
