Gardening items stolen in break-in at Ashton on Mersey Golf Club

Police are appealing for help in trying to track down “green fingered’ thieves who stole gardening items after breaking into a car at Ashton on Mersey Golf Club on Witley Drive.

A GMP spokesman said:”On Monday 12th September at some point during the afternoon, a vehicle was broken into near the Ashton on Mersey Golf Club . The following items were stolen:

1 x Lawn Mower
1x Strimmer
2 Hedge Trimmers
1 x Leaf Blower

”Did you witness anything or any suspicious activity? If you have any information please call 0161 856 7530. ”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
