Man arrested in Brooklands area after an attempted burglary this afternoon

A man has been arrested this afternoon after an attempted burglary in Georges Road in Brooklands.

Confirming the arrest a spokesman for GMP said:” A suspect burglar has been arrested this afternoon following reports of a break in at an address on Georges Road.”

There are no more details being released by the police at the present time. Responding to a spate of burglaries in the Sale and Brooklands area, GMP have said they are targeting areas in the Division vulnerable to burglaries.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
