A drug runner from Sale has been jailed for 22 years for conspiring to supply millions of pounds worth of cocaine and heroin throughout Manchester, Lancashire and Cleveland in the North West of England.
Dean McCaffrey was one of four men sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

McCaffrey, 30 of Brede Walk, Sale was arrested as part of Operation Petral, an operation to halt supply of drugs and organised crime in Manchester, Preston , and Cleveland between March and October 2015.
As part of the Operation a vehicle was stopped travelling from Manchester to Cleveland in September 2015. Police found a hidden compartment containing two kilos of cocaine. Further drugs, including cocaine and heroin, were found in raids on addresses in Northenden and Droylsden. The investigation revealed the four men had been involved in the distribution of £4.5 million of class A drugs.
Detective Inspector Rob Cousen of GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group said:”Drugs cause widespread damage in the community and they will not be tolerated.
”This is a fantastic result and I hope it sends the message that we relentlessly pursue and dismantle organised groups that seek to profit from flooding the streets with these substances.
