Police are appealing for any information following an incident in a Sale park, at the weekend, when a youth was assaulted by a 40 strong gang,
The assault occurred in Clarendon Crescent close to Worthington Park.
“On Saturday evening between 6.30pm and 7pm, a group of friends were approached by a gang of around 40 youths at a local park in Sale, who challenged the group to a fight. One of the males within the group refused and walked away, however the male was then followed by the gang who then threw sticks towards him.’ said a spokesman for GMP.
“The victim was then cornered by the gang on Clarendon Crescent. One of the offenders punched the male to the forehead, a second offender then held a sharp implement to the males neck, however the male managed to move away and fortunately suffered no injuries. The offenders continued to harass the male for a further period, however he eventually made off from the scene.
“The offenders are yet to be identified and enquiries are on-going.”
