Sixteen year old arrested in connection with incidents involving women in the Sale Today area

Police have arrested a sixteen year old youth on suspicion of sexual assault after a teenager was grabbed and two women were propositioned. All three incidents involving women in the Timperley, Sale and Ashton on Mersey areas, occurred on the same night earlier this week.

Detective Inspector Carl Gilbert, based in Stretford Police Station said:”A 16 year old male from Sale, has now been arrested. He has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and two counts of public order offences. He remains in police custody for questioning..”

The arrest followed incidents at Park Road Timperley, Harboro Road in Sale and Ashton Lane in Ashton on Mersey.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
