Thieves “skip” off with this lorry from Sale

Puzzled police are trying to work out why thieves would steal a lorry with distinct markings from Fairy Lane in Sale last night.

The lorry is emblazoned with the logo on “Sale Skip Hire” on the bonnet and doors.

Police have issued two pictures of the lorry which was stolen about 10.30pm, and asked for the public’s help in tracing it. The lorry’s registration number is HG56 WXC.

A GMP spokesman said:”Please watch out for this vehicle, if sighted please call 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 ”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
