Black bin bags….it can only mean one thing as Sale Wombles return on Sunday.

[dropcap types ‘circles’]Great Uncle Bulgaria will NOT be there, but that won’t stop the Sale Wombles, turning on their magic – to rid the streets of litter this Sunday.

The Sale Wombles have their final litter pick of the year, and you can join them. The event starts at 2pm outside Sainsbury’s and will last for a couple of hours.

“All equipment is provided but if you do have a pair of gardening gloves then please bring them along. All ages and abilities are welcome, including children,” said a spokesman for Sale Wombles.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
