Adam Henshall-Jones, the Sale teacher who was critically ill and had to have emergency brain surgery in a hospital in China ,has been released from the intensive care ward, and is now recovering in his home in Anhui according to his family.
His sister-in-law, Kate said today:” He has made a remarkable recovery. He is doing lots better. He is at home now in China, walking, eating, talking fine.
Adam was teaching English to Chinese students and has lived in China for four years. ”Adam was taken ill while out shopping with his wife Zhiyuan, and rushed to hospital where he was treated for blood clots on the brain, He is now facing a medical bill in excess of £30,000 because China doesn’t have a national health service and Adam was not insured. We launched a crowd funding page and people have responded quite amazingly. We have raised £19,600 – I can’t thank people enough.”
Adam parents, Carl and Karen Henshall-Jones, from Sale, flew out to China to be with him at the hospital in Anhui.
”The main thing at the moment is he’s feeling so much better. He’s enjoying spending some time with his parents as he hadn’t seen them for 18 months, ”said Kate .
