Police in Sale are warning parents and children to be aware of a woman who attempted to entice an 11-year-old boy into her car in Brooklands.
The incident happened yesterday when the boy was on his way to school at about 8 am. He was approached on Shrewsbury Road, Brooklands, by a woman in a black VW Golf.
She drove alongside the boy and said to him:”Hop in and I will give you will a lift.” When he refused she sped off towards Woodbourne Road.
The woman is described as white, with ginger/red hair, aged 35-45yrs, medium height and thin build.
A spokesperson for GMP Trafford South said: “Parents, please be mindful if your child is walking to school alone and warn your children of the dangers of talking to strangers.
Report suspicious behaviour to the police on 101 or in an emergency dial 999.
