The search for  Alfie  – the Jack Russell missing from Sale – moved to Partington  today after a possible sighting in the River Lane area.

The plight of Alfie has captured the hearts and minds of Sale Today readers, and resulted in messages of support for his family, and hundreds of shares of the story through Sale Today Facebook and Twitter and  our  website.

Alfie was scared by a firework on Marsland Road  while out for a walk, and bolted and never returned.

”I guess his story has touched so many people.  We are so grateful that so many people are looking out for Alfie.  The community response has overwhelmed us,” said Michael Collier, who said his family were exploring a possible sighting in Partington.  “He was seen earlier yesterday  afternoon in the Partington area on a road called River Lane. At the end of this Lane there is a large wooded area which we have searched this afternoon and again this evening.  We will be searching through the wood today. If anyone finds Alfie, or sees him, would they please get in touch. My email is  michael.collier@mail.com.”
