Santa has arrived early at the Trafford Centre….and there wasn’t a reindeer in sight.

He left the sleigh at home and hitched a ride on a Manchester Water Taxi – known as Waxis – as it began its trial service on the Bridgewater Canal, ahead of the launch day on November 21st.

”We are delighted that Santa has chosen us to make his way into the Trafford Centre. We also took  some children to their grotto, who are being supported by The Once Upon A Smile charity, they do some fantastic work with bereaved children,” said Steve Cadwell, the entrepreneur behind the Waxis

The Polar Expedition Grotto at the Trafford Centre,  is open until December 24.  Manchester Water Taxis will run a service from the  Trafford Centre via Old Trafford and Hotel Football, finishing at Dukes 92, Castlefield. The journey will take about an hour.

It will also launch a daily commuter service from Sale Waterside to Castlefield.
