The family of Alfie the missing terrier have been widening their search today with areas of Altrincham and Hale being searched.

”We are checking all the parks and open areas for him, and asking dog owners, in particular, if they have seen him on their walks with their dogs,” said Lynne Fox, a family friend.

Lynne was checking out Stamford Park in Hale today.  ‘We are keeping an open mind as to his whereabouts. We were convinced Alfie was in Partington, but I’m here to spread the word in Altrincham and Hale just in case he has wandered back in the area.  I’m a dog owner, so I know what it means to lose a dog.

“The family need all the help they can get,” said Lynne.

He said:”The general public have been fantastic and several people really have gone way over and above kindness, out searching on a daily basis.  It restores your faith in humanity! ”

He said there had been a couple of new sightings, all centred around Partington.

“Our best guess is that he is keeping near to the river during the day and venturing out at night times when quiet to find food, ” he said.  “We have carried out numerous overnight stakeouts but unfortunately no new sightings.”
