Finding Nemo took on a whole new meaning this week for two Sale Sharks players.
It was a “jaws” dropping day for Byron McGuigan and ‘Young Player of the Year’ Sam James. They came face to face, and nose to fin, with Sea Life’s Black Tip Reef Sharks at the Manchester centre.
They found themselves in deep water. Luckily the sharks had no appetite for the Sharks and the intrepid rugby players emerged unscathed from the experience. The “dip” was to celebrate the announcement of the new sponsorship between SEA LIFE Manchester and Sale Sharks, and Byron and Sam enjoyed their time at Europe’s only SEA TREK®.
In fact both players were keen to test their courage and prowess getting into the water and swimming with the sharks. They will need all the help they can get for their next game is with the champions Saracens at the AJ stadium on Sunday 20th November.
Jenn McDonough, General Manager at SEA LIFE Manchester said; “The whole team at SEA LIFE Manchester is really excited about our 2016 – 2017 season sponsorship of Manchester’s Sale Sharks. It is really important for us to able to support local businesses, enterprises and teams, especially after the months of training and preparation a team like Sale Sharks goes through.”
Mark Cueto, Sale Sharks’ Commercial Director said; “We’d like to thank the team at SEA LIFE Manchester for a great day. The players were made to feel really welcome and the event was a fantastic opportunity to mark the beginning of what we know will be a fantastic partnership.”
SEA TREK® is an amazing underwater adventure that lets you come within touching distance of some of the attraction’s most spectacular marine creatures, right inside the ocean tank.
