80 year old woman punched and pushed to the floor in attack on Washway Road

Police are appealing for help in finding a man who punched an 80-year-old woman and then threw her to the floor during a robbery on Washway Road. Sale.

Her bag was stolen during the incident which happened close to the Sale Point building on Saturday evening.

The pensioner was walking when the incident happened at about 18.55pm. The man is described as a white male, around 50 yrs, stocky build with a Mancunian accent wearing dark clothing carrying a white coloured carrier bag.

Officers would like to hear from anyone with information and ask you to call on the 101 number if you do, or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.
