Let’s be honest Christmas food shopping can be a bit stressful. As the big day approaches a frenzy overtakes the aisles and people buy way too much food than is good for them. And, while Carols have been playing in the shops since mid November, the message of Christmas might just be lost on some of those people finding it all a bit of a chore.
But not those who were in Tesco in Sale when suddenly the place was filled with voices. A flash mob of singers had been mingling with them first of all, checking out the fruit and veg. Suddenly more and more apparent shoppers started to burst into song.
Although there were some die-hard customers who chose to ignore what was happening around them, and some just looked embarrassed, others realised they were the audience of a special performance of Mary’s Boy Child by the Love Sale choir.
Said Dan Morton of Tesco Sale:” Love Sale are a community based initiative that do random acts of kindness around Sale. They approached us and asked if they could do a flash mob in our store which we were obviously very excited about.
“The filming is poor as I did it on my phone but at one point you couldn’t tell who was a genuinely shopping or who was part of the choir. They just did it to spread some Christmas joy.”
