Forget plans for a White Christmas – Sale Today readers are in for a battering as Storm Barbara breezes in tomorrow.

There’s an urgent warning of high winds and structural damage forecast for the Greater Manchester area tomorrow afternoon with gusts around  60 mph veering to 70 mph in exposed places.  The storm is expected to last through to Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve and Boxing Day are expected to be much quieter.
