Police warning over possible bogus officials operating in the Sale area

Police are warning about possible bogus officials approaching addresses in the Sale area.

A spokesman for GMP said:” We have reports of them operating in the Sale area. There were two males in a white transit van, and a further three males knocking on doors. addresses on Glenthorn Grove in Sale. They had a van which has a towing Jack on the back , a roof rack with some ladders on the roof and a high vis yellow stripe running down both sides of the middle of the van. No reg or any further details available the moment.

“Please be wary and warn your neighbours. Never do business with door to door salesmen/workmen. If you have any information please report to 101.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
