Police get tough on vehicles causing an obstruction in Hope Road in Sale

Folowing numerous complaints about vehicle causing obstruction in a Sale road the police have taken action.

We have numerous complaints daily of vehicles causing an obstruction on Hope Road, Sale.

A spokesman for GMP said:”We have numerous complaints daily of vehicles causing an obstruction on Hope Road, Sale which has sometimes meant people with prams and wheelchairs have had to walk on the main road around the vehicle. A ticket was issued to a vehicle on Hope Road for unnecessary obstruction.”

One resident welcomed the action but warned:”Every day its the same – it means that people have to walk in the road.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:

In honour of the allied airmen whose aircraft crashed on this site 3rd August 1943
