For those making the commute from Sale to Manchester on the Met, the usual view is normally the back of someone’s head or a look out of the windows as the scenery whizzes by. Not many passengers get to see what the driver sees.
To mark yesterdays opening of the Second City Crossing a camera was put in the cab to capture Manchester at speed.
This latest 1.3km stretch of track through the city centre links together a network 93 stops strong, with over 60 miles of track and a record-breaking 37 million passengers a year.
The Second City Crossing runs from the Deansgate-Castlefield stop to St.Peter’s Square via Cross Street, and eventually on to Exchange Square and Victoria.
