Seven cars were damaged by thieves in Riding Close in Sale overnight.
Police believe the thieves were targeting the cars and looking for valuables.
Neighbours in Riding Close woke up to find a trail of damage.
A police spokesman said:” During the early hours of this morning, seven vehicles were damaged on Riding Close in Sale.
“Offenders were looking for property to steal. Please ensure all valuable items are removed from your vehicles when unattended, and if possible leave your vehicles under a street light or security light, on a driveway or in a locked garage.
“Please let us know if you witnessed any suspicious activity in that area last night by calling us on 101, thanks.”
