Woman’s body discovered after a fire in Sale house

A woman has died after a house fire in Sale.

Emergency services were called to a property on Hayling Road in Sale shortly after 2.50pm , yesterday  after a report of a fire.

Following a search by firefighters, the body of a woman was sadly discovered inside the property.

Formal identification is yet to take place.

A joint investigation with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has been launched to establish the cause of the fire.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Parker of GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a woman has died and my thoughts are with her family at this time.

“This investigation is its very early stages and we will be working closely with GMFRS to establish exactly how this fire started.

“I would urge anyone with any information to please contact police.”
