Pens at the ready if you run a local group or organisation in Sale because it is that time of year when £20,000 worth of grants is up for grabs.
Sale Locality Partnership Make Sale Smile’ Voluntary Sector Grant scheme is open to applications and groups AND individuals are encouraged to apply for a share of the money.
Groups can qualify for between £300 and £1500 maximum, depending on their status, to help with project ideas which are judged to bd of benefit to Sale and its residents.
Those who wish to apply have until 5pm on April 18th. To help people who may want more information or guidance with their application, there will be drop-in session on Monday April 3rd between 4pm – 6pm at the Waterside Arts Centre.
Last year The ‘We Are Sale Moor’ neighbourhood forum group was among those who were awarded a grant. They applied for and were given a grant of £1500 to go towards a community pop-up cinema event.
The Chair of Sale Locality Partnership, Cllr John Lamb, said: “Trafford Council is committed to providing support to local communities and groups to help them improve things in their local area.
“We have already seen what fantastic imaginative and often very simple ways local people can improve things. This is one reason why we are delighted to once again offer two levels of grants to ‘Make Sale Smile’ in 2017 which we know encourages neighbours and individuals to apply alongside established groups to turn their ideas into reality”.
There will be a networking event held on May 11th for the £300 grant applicants. At the event they will have the opportunity to meet and share ideas with other candidates and local residents. Those that meet the criteria for the £1,500 grant will be invited to a public vote event on June 3rd at Square Shopping Centre.
