Scammer strikes again in Sale asking people for money to visit his sick father in hospital

A fraudster is operating again in Sale – this time on Albert Road.

A police spokesman said:”We have received numerous reports of a male approaching members of the public in the Sale area asking for petrol money so that he can visit his sick father in hospital. If you are approached by this male be mindful that this is a scam, the male is fraudulently asking for money and is making up a story to reel people in. The most recent incident occurred on Monday on Albert Road, Sale.

Earlier in the week police warned the public to be on their guard and not fall for his hard luck story.

A spokesman said:” We have received another report of this male operating Outside Sainsbury’s on Curzon Road, Sale.

“Please be aware that the male is not genuine and this is a scam. He is using a story that his father is poorly to reel people in… don’t fall for it! The man is described as white, approximately 50 years old, wearing jeans and T-shirt with grey hair. If you are approached by this male, please call the Police on 101.”
