Thieves steal a car and gardening tools in overnight burglaries in Sale

A black Ford Focus Galaxy was stolen during a burglary overnight in Sale.

Police say the thieves took the Galaxy, registration number SV59 XCZ , from a house on Cranford Avenue.

A garage was also targeted on Oulton Avenue, in Sale, where gardening tools including hedge cutters, blowers, strimmers and chain saws were stolen.

A car was also broken into on Oulton Avenue, hedge cutters were stolen.

And thieves gained entry to a garage on Stapleford Close and stole a quantity of fishing equipment.

A spokesman for GMP said:”Please call us on 101 if you have any information about these items or if you witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area overnight. Also please let us know if anyone offers these items for sale. ‘ ‘

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
