Trafford Liberal Democrats have announced their candidate to contest the Altrincham and Sale West seat in the general election.
Trafford councillor Jane Brophy has been selected. She will go up against Trafford Labour’s party leader Andrew Western and Conservative’s Graham Brady, who will be fighting to retain the seat on June 8.
Ms Brophy said issues affecting the environment, including fracking, the garden waste charge and the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework, are top of her agenda.
William Jones is standing as the Lib Dem candidate for Wythenshawe and Sale East seat.
Mr Jones will be campaigning on Brexit and its effects on the local economy, in particular Trafford Park.
