Thieves steal a car in an overnight burglary in Ashton on Mersey.

A spokesman for GMP said:”A white Audi A7 was stolen during a burglary overnight from Lambert Drive in the Ashton on Mersey area. The vehicle registration is UNZ 9439.

“Please call the 101 number if you have any information.”

WALTON PARK WIMPY MEMORIAL: A new war memorial has been unveiled in Walton Park, to commemorate the aircrew who crash-landed there on the third of August 1943, killing two Australian airmen.

The memorial reads:
