Their smiles say it all – after surviving the horror of the Manchester Arena suicide bombing not to mention the operations to repair the damage it caused their young bodies – nothing could compare to a surprise visit from their idol, Ariana Grande.
She visited young fans who were injured in the attack at the end of her concert at the Arena, as they were watching TV last night at the Royal Manchester Children’s hospital.
The singer is back in Manchester for her One Love Concert at the Emirates Old Trafford ground tomorrow where she will be joined on stage by other global stars including Justin Beiber, Cold Play, Katy Perry and Niall Horan from One Direction.
The girls were still recovering from an equally private visit from Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge who had met them as he toured the wards in the afternoon.
But unknown to them the biggest surprise of all was awaiting them and judging by their smiles, the visit by Ariana was beyond special.
“This means more to us than all the amazing things people have done this week.when your daughter asks after her 2nd operation is ariana ok?so happy she came i could burst! Never seen Jaden so happy!even cried again myself?xx” – Chris Mann
One dad, Chris Mann, posted photographs on his Facebook page of the moment his daughter Jaden met her hero. He said his daughter had asked whether the superstar singer was OK as soon as she had come round other second operation since the bombing. Her smile says it all!
And it’s emerged that the singer has had meetings with a number of families whose loved ones died during the blast, including the Hett family from Stockport. This picture was put up on Dan Hett’s Twitter feed. His brother Martyn, who was a PR manager in Altrincham, died in the bombing.
